Relaxed Brunch at Fusionpolis Jimmy Monkey Cafe & Bar

Jimmy Monkey Cafe & Bar is tucked away in a corner at One North Residences shops.

I was having a job nearby and my girl friend suggested to have our lunch at a nearby cafe, Jimmy Monkey Cafe & Bar. The cafe was opened by an Australian, Michael Ryan, has been staying in Singapore for the past 10 years. While he craved for the real coffee and cafe experience back home, he decided to open Jimmy Monkey to bring the ultimate experience in Singapore.

People spending their own sweet time chatting away while the kitchen works with speed to deliver the food.

Although the size of cafe is not huge, it is completed with a bar and lounge that could easily house 25-30 guests at one time. Perhaps it was a Sunday afternoon, the cafe was busy and almost every other seats are being taken up.

Smoked Salmon Spaghetti Aglio Olio. Topped with rocket leaves.

The dish looks simple and dedicated. At times, simplicity works for better than complexity. Most of the food are only cooked when order, so short waiting time is rewarded with a plate of hot spaghetti and excellent taste. The portion is adequate and leaves your stomach some room for dessert.

Ristretto. With a slice of biscuit.

Jimmy Monkey’s coffee is specially brewed using Singapore’s very first Slayer Espresso machine. The Ristretto was bold and aromatic with a very smooth tasting. Meanwhile, the coffee’s bitterness wakens and unblock my brain which lack of caffeine “power”. You may like to add some sugar if you find the taste too strong for you or maybe just goes with their desserts or premium ice cream will be a good choice as well.

Jimmy Monkey cafe is definitely a great place to spend some time chatting away with friends or your loved one on a great weekend. Price are slightly steep but justifiable on the quality and service.
